Description

I love Forktronica/Electronica so much that I thought I’d choose those genres if I ever started DJing. While I actually play Jazzy/Disco House most often, I’ve wanted to create an Electronica DJ mix, and this mix is the first one.

As always, a beautifully mixing is my fundamental, but this time I also challenged myself with an effect: leaving a high-pass filter on for an extended period and then very slowly bringing it back. I incorporated this in Opal (Four Tet Remix) - Bicep. I’d seen Four Tet do it many times and had wanted to try it myself for a while. When DJing live, I adjust the effect’s duration based on the vibe of the moment. I decide intuitively, thinking about how much of a dreamlike quality I want to bring to the space, or how much of that sensation of your consciousness whitening out I want to create.
