Mix 2 | Jazzy House | BPM 120 - 124 | 50.5 M
Description
Like the 1st mix, I focused on layering/blending two tracks with EQ adjustments to uncover new surfaces. That’s so-called mashup mixing.
Personally, there are several memorable transitions I particularly love.
Would appear to be jazz. - Bolden.toSonder - Barry Can't Swim. By connecting the drop to the intro, it maintains the flow while transitioning to an unexpectedly new impression.Breach - dubion & Nathan HainestoLight and Shadow - Manabu Nagayama. Mixing the outro and the middle of a build-up (!) makes it sound like one bass player is playing both tracks consecutively. Furthermore, when mixing inAbout love - Georgesnext, it mixes in the track at the key change point withinLight and Shadow. Mixing these two tracks incorrectly at the wrong QUE point results in either a mix that sounds too polished or one that feels messy.
Note: The YouTube video description includes jump links to the mashup start points. I personally enjoy listening that functionalities on Youtube.
